Fare of an Art Fair...

Is it a fair Fair?

The homonym here says a lot about the market in/of Art Fairs.
Looking at the the Abu Dhabi Art Fair, It is astonishing that the new success of a city as an art Market is now measured by the existence of an Art Fair. No doubt it is a good barometer. It is also a brilliant tool to attract big galleries, dealers, collectors and the media (critics). It is a whirlpool of business- if a gallery doesn't participate in the fair, it is out cast, and branded a 'not successful enterprise'.

But I don't think I am complaining about it!

It is fun to go to these art fairs, and if the pockets as promotional to the egos walking around, it is a good shopping mall as well!

But am I the only one who misses old school buying?

New New York

This is a city that always teaches, but seldom breaches!

Most romantics who came here, left as poets (or stayed on and became Bob Dylan!)

All the cynics who came here, left with double the pounds; as one can try but escape the New York Cheesecake sounds!

I came as an escaper, and an far from being an escapist now. Having found my cave in this enclave, I breathe easy, and will try and not attempt poetry anytime soon!

Mamta Banerjee's Railway budget!

I noticed:-
  • Her damn Bengali accent...and her budget was tagged 'didi's budget' by NDTV
  • Sonia Gandhi's super suave saree with a blazer!
  • 'madam'...the most used words...
  • she always repeats the word 'cheaper'...thrice ! (she is looking for an alternate carrier )
  • ( she is sucking up to all other ministers...)
  • and I am impressed with the bugdet..it is entertaining (missing 'lok sabha' channel breaks at MTV!)
  • And Sushma Swaraj is very visibly bored.
  • And she believes just because she is bengali..she can sing...I hope someone clarifies this!
  • and why is skin glowing?...I honestly ask!

keyboard-fake pen!

I have been writing all through, but typing it out isn't the best venting mechanism for me.

I love writing, but typing is a pain!

Some say the pen is mightier than a sword, the typewriter may have been mighty as well (especially if you fling it across a room, considering it has no wires attached!)...but a keyboard...firstly it is useless without a monitor and printer and lots of other technology things!

SO in this writing spree, I say I want pen.and a good one...and while I'm back to wanting..I want shoes and a trip to Pondicherry and all the stuff in the store MUSE and a super cool THOUGH OF THINK?
